here's to the weekend...
This weekend was already special with my birthday falling on Sunday, but the day before, I got an inquiry for a graduation shoot on the 19th. I thought, why not? Let’s do it.
We locked in a morning session and made our way out to University of Maryland Global Campus. And y’all—of all the weekends in April, this was the only one that didn’t rain! We got hit with an overcast instead, but honestly… I’ll take that over rain any day. The light was soft, even, and perfect for capturing all the goodness.
My client came dressed in a plaid outfit that immediately caught my eye—I knew it would pop beautifully against the brick of the school buildings. She asked for something near the columns to go with her look, and I loved the idea. It gave the whole shoot a timeless, collegiate feel.
As I was capturing her, I kept thinking about how everything was flowing—the red roses she brought, the way her hair caught the light, the texture of the brick. It was giving everything it needed to.
Sometimes in Spring, you don’t need full blooms or sunshine. Sometimes, you just have to let the moment work for you.
And this moment? It did just that.
