A Queen, you say?
When you think of a queen, what comes to mind? Often, we default to thinking about someone fancy, rich, or of high status.
But a queen is so much more. She is a woman striving to be the best version of herself. This photoshoot, a spontaneous midday session, was inspired by the Queen of Bowie State University, Miss BSU (2023-2024). The theme was "Men in Black" for their Queens in Black week.
I aimed to highlight each woman's role: protecting the crown.
Using the afternoon sunlight in our Fine and Performing Arts building, I set the stage for this dramatic, yet classy look.
Don't think; just do.
The thing about creative shoots like this... sometimes you just have to get out and try it for yourself to see if it works. No need to overthink what we haven't experienced yet.
I've dealt with my fair share of imposter syndrome and the thing about it is: you believe that you can't do it, so in-turn you can't do it.
Start with the vision and just have a little faith in that-- and it'll drive you the rest of the way.
